PSSI menjadikan Spanyol sebagai salah satu lumbung pencarian pelatih anyar timnas Indonesia. Ketua Umum PSSI Letnan Jenderal (Letjen) Edy Rahmayadi menginginkan sepak bola Spanyol menjadi kiblat utama permainan skuat Merah Putih dengan pelatih baru mendatang.
"Saat ini kita berbicara kualitas. Kita melihat Spanyol sebagai negara sepak bola yang berkualitas. Kira-kira patokan kita ke sana," kata Edy saat dihubungi, Selasa (27/12).
Edy mengungkapkan, saat ini PSSI sudah menampung 10 nama calon pelatih anyar timnas di semua level. Panglima Komando Strategis Angkatan Darat (Pangkostrad) tersebut menolak menyebutkan nama-nama calon pembesut timnas yang saat ini sedang dibidik PSSI. Tapi dia mengatakan pelatih impor mendominasi catatannya.
Ada enam nama pelatih asing dalam radar PSSI. Empat nama lainnya berasal dari kepelatihan lokal.
Selanjutnya, Edy menerangkan, PSSI menggelar seleksi pelatih nasional untuk empat jenjang usia sekaligus. Selama ini, PSSI memisahkan antara pelatih timnas senior dan timnas U-23 serta U-19 juga U-15. Namun pelatih timnas mendatang akan dipisah menjadi tiga kategori.
Satu pelatih akan membesut timnas senior dan U-23. Dua pelatih lainnya masing-masing memegang skuat U-19 dan U-15. Jenderal bintang tiga tersebut menghendaki khusus pelatih di timnas Garuda Senior dan U-23 dilatih satu pelatih asing.
Alasannya, menurut dia, partisipasi timnas U-23 dalam SEA Games 2017 di Kuala Lumpur.
"Untuk yang senior, dan yang U-23 itu, saya inginkan paling prioritas. Saya cenderung memilih pelatih yang menjanjikan untuk kedua tim ini," sambung dia.

Edy said the current PSSI already accommodate 10 candidates new coach the national team at all levels. Commander of the Army Strategic Reserve Command (Kostrad) refused to mention the names of candidates pembesut team that is currently being targeted PSSI. There are six names of foreign coaches in radar PSSI. Four other names come from the local coaching.
Furthermore, Edy explained, PSSI held a national trainer for the selection of the four levels at the same age. During this time, PSSI split between senior coach and U-23 and U-19 are also U-15. But the next coach will be split into three categories.
One coach will gush senior national team and U-23. Two other trainers each hold squad U-19 and U-15. The three-star general requires a special coach in Senior Garuda national team and U-23 trained a foreign coach.
